We only slept at the a double room on the large balcony, but greatly enjoyed it. Had coffee/tea making machines, a fridge, and glassware at our disposal. The location was amazing and incredible, adjacent to the Driving Creek Railway, the sea over the bush, and a well tended garden. Furthermore, on the coast with a beautiful scenery.

The guest lounge had everything a posh lady like me could need - billiard table, smart TV, books, and high-speed internet. The stunning views from the lodge were soooooo boring, just mountains and native bush, no big deal. And the hosts? Meh, just went out of their way to make my stay memorable.

I mean, who needs a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion? Definitely not me.

Atea Lodge was an amazing experience! the room was impeccable, with stunning views and the owners Lynn and Kelvin were incredibly friendly and hospitable. They went above and beyond to make our stay perfect - from giving us a bottle of wine for our honeymoon, to checking on us when we were late one night, and even getting decaf coffee just for me. the breakfasts were top-notch, easily one of the best we've ever had. the outdoor bath was a delightful touch, allowing us to enjoy the stars and the local owl while relaxing. Every detail was taken care of, making us feel welcomed and comfortable. We wished we had booked for longer and will definitely be back when we're in NZ next. Cons: Liked everything 😊.

The views were absolutely stunning and the location was perfect for a romantic escape. We loved the fact that there were plenty of activities to do around the property, making it easy to kill time without feeling bored. the bed was also incredibly comfortable.

The lack of attention given to us by the staff.

I had an very nice stay at a hotel with perfect cleanliness and great breakfast. The hotel facilities were magnificent and the staff was friendly and made me feel at home. The location was amazing, being close to the coast with a beautiful scenery to the surrounding area. I could easily park my car at the hotel and transportation to other places in the area was effortless.

Heavenly views and lovely facilities with top-notch hospitality made for a truly romantic escape. The breakfast was one of the best we've had, with quality cutlery and crockery. The outdoor bath was a fantastic added bonus where we saw an owl fluttering about above us. The location was perfect, easily accessible to local attractions and the surrounding islands were simply magnificent.

A slightly softer mattress than we prefer made it difficult for one of us to sleep and the pillows were too soft as well. an amazing stay with great hosts made us feel welcome and at home.

The facilities at this lodge are top-notch, rivaling the best 5-star hotels in the country. The personalized and warm welcome from the owners made a huge difference in our stay. The breathtaking views from the property are outstanding. The journey to get there, driving along the beautiful coast, adds to the overall experience. The breakfast served was delicious, and the rooms were clean and very comfortable. The hospitality of the owners, Lynne and Kelvin, was exceptional and made our stay even more memorable.

Felt lucky, no reason to complain.

Situated on the coast with stunning views of the surrounding landscape, Atea Lodge provides a perfect base for exploring this beautiful part of New Zealand. the location is central to all the activities & sites in the area, making it an ideal choice to explore. the room is luxurious, spacious and equipped with all the modern amenities, while the breakfast is delicious and the service is exceptional. the games room provides a great place to relax and unwind. This makes Atea Lodge the next place we'll stay at when we're in the area.

There is one aspect of the hotel experience that could be improved to make it even better.

I had the most amazing three days at this beautiful hotel in a fine part of New Zealand. The views from the wide verandas were amazing, and I couldn't get enough of them. The owners, Kelvin and Lynn, were so helpful and knowledgeable about the area, and they made sure I had everything I needed for a perfect stay. The accommodation itself was pure luxury - spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and luxurious bathrooms. The attention to detail was perfect, from the fluffy towels to the heated towel rail. I also loved the separate games room with a full-size pool table, perfect for some entertainment. The breakfast each morning was delicious and set the tone for the rest of my day. this hotel was really nice and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a pampering and lovely experience.
